Milwaukee ISM Index Slides to 46.6 in June

The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business slipped to 46.6 in June from 47.7 in May, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Tuesday.

New orders received grew to 45.0 from 44.1, production increased to 44.2 from 42.7, employment slipped to 52.7 from 56.6, supplier deliveries rose to 50.3 from 49.7, and backlog of orders fell to 36.7 from 40.9.

Inventory levels dropped to 40.6 from 45.5, customers' inventories held at 50.0, prices slumped to 37.5 from 45.5, exports fell to 42.3 from 43.8 and imports decreased to 50.0 from 56.3.

The blue collar diffusion index surged to 58.8 from 47.8, while the white collar diffusion index jumped to 62.8 from 52.2.
