Milwaukee ISM Index Rises to 57.78 in March

The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business gained to 57.78 in March from 55.22 in February, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Thursday.

New orders received gained to 66.20 from 53.47, production grew to 68.81 from 52.59, employment increased to 68.32 from 62.56, supplier deliveries inched up to 49.21 from 49.16, and backlog of orders soared to 65.00 from 45.45.

Inventory levels dropped to 36.36 from 58.33, customers’ inventories decreased to 35.00 from 50.00, prices soared to 63.64 from 33.33, exports remained at 50.00 and imports rose to 57.14 from 56.25.

The blue collar diffusion index slid to 63.8 from 46.7, while the white collar diffusion index increased to 63.8 from 58.4.
