The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business gained to 55.2 in February from 50.4 in January, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Monday.

New orders received gained to 53.5 from 49.4, production grew to 52.6 from 51.9, employment surged to 62.6 from 47.9, supplier deliveries rose to 49.2 from 45.5, and backlog of orders soared to 45.5 from 30.8.
Inventory levels climbed to 58.3 from 57.1, customers' inventories increased to 50.0 from 46.2, prices rose t0 33.3 from 25.0, exports jumped to 50.0 from 30.0 and imports rose to 56.3 from 50.0.
The blue collar diffusion index soared to 66.7 from 47.9, while the white collar diffusion index increased to 58.4 from 47.9.
