Milwaukee ISM Index Rises to 50.4 in Jan.

The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business gained to 50.4 in January from 48.5 in December, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Friday.

New orders received slipped to 49.4 from 50.3, production grew to 51.9 from 50.3, employment decreased to 47.9 from 51.7, supplier deliveries grew to 45.5 from 44.0, and backlog of orders dropped to 30.8 from 32.1.

Inventory levels gained to 57.1 from 46.4, customers' inventories dipped to 46.2 from 46.4, prices remained at 25.0, exports fell to 30.0 from 45.0 and imports remained at 50.0.

The blue collar diffusion index dropped to 47.9 from 55.5, while the white collar diffusion index also fell to 47.9 from 55.5.
