Milwaukee ISM Index Gains to 46.7 in Oct.

The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business climbed to 46.7 in October from 39.4 in September, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Friday.

New orders received rose to 46.7 from 35.5, production gained to 48.9 from 35.3, employment increased to 51.4 from 41.9, supplier deliveries slid to 46.7 from 53.3, and backlog of orders grew to 40.0 from 37.5.

Inventory levels soared to 41.4 from 31.3, customers' inventories rose to 53.6 from 53.3, prices climbed to 23.3 from 21.9, exports fell to 33.3 from 40.9 and imports decreased to 50.0 from 54.6.

The blue collar diffusion index slipped to 41.4 from 45.1, while the white collar diffusion index slid to 55.1 from 58.0.
