Oklahoma City is experiencing a renaissance and Jered Davidson is playing an important role in the city's ongoing urban revitalization efforts.
The city has a lot going for it: Affordable living, a strong job market and a thriving economy. The 2025 National Basketball Association champion Oklahoma City Thunder will continue to call the city home following the announcement of a new $900 million downtown arena scheduled to open in 2028.
Growing up in a small town in southwest Oklahoma, Davidson knew a few things by the age of five: he liked math, he wanted to give back, and he wanted to be an attorney. Active in 4-H growing up and even serving as its state president, Davidson studied agricultural economics with a focus on community and economic development at Oklahoma State and earned his law degree at the University of Oklahoma.
Davidson envisioned a career as a litigator but after interning at several large law firms, he realized he made a "horrible mistake." So, on the advice of a career counselor, he pivoted and joined The Public Finance Law Group working with Oklahoma City and larger issuers within the state.
Davidson, now a partner at the firm, has been at the forefront of creative and innovative approaches to public financing including the multi-year restoration of the historic First National Bank Building into a hotel and condominiums, the new downtown convention center, and airport expansion projects.
Davidson is known for his congenial and collaborative approach, respect for others' opinions, willingness to address concerns, and his lack of ego. "My personal philosophy is that it's not about who's right or who's wrong," Davidson said. "It's about getting from point A to point B in the most efficient and beneficial way for my clients."
