U.S. import prices increased 1.7% in November, the largest increase in five months, as some categories of non-petroleum prices climbed by the most in more than a year, the Labor Department said Friday.
Export prices increased 0.8% in November, making it the largest increase since June.
Economists had been expecting a 0.2% increase in the price of imports, according to the median estimate from Thomson Reuters.
Import prices increased 0.8% in October, revised higher from the 0.7% gain initially reported.
