Economic optimism grew slightly, according to the IBD/TIPP index, released Tuesday, which rose to 47.0 in July from 46.7 in June.

The six-month outlook index fell to 45.6 from 46.8, the personal financial outlook slipped to 55.1 from 56.1, and the confidence in government policy index rose to 40.3 from 37.1.
