The University of Michigan's final February consumer sentiment index reading was 91.7, compared to the preliminary February 90.7, and the final January 92.0, according to market sources.
The expectations index was 81.9, compared to the preliminary February 81.0, and the final January 82.7.
The current conditions index was 106.8, compared to the preliminary February 105.8, and the final January 106.4.
Economists polled by Thomson Reuters had predicted a 91.0 reading for the main index, 80.9 for expectations and 105.9 for current conditions.
The five-year inflation expectation index was 2.5%, compared to 2.7% in January, while the one-year inflation expectation index was 2.5%, compared to 2.5% in January.
The University of Michigan index is not released to the press, but only to paying subscribers.
