Construction spending decreased 0.5% in February, the Commerce Department said Friday, and is 10.3% above the February 2015 level.
In January, construction spending rose a revised 2.1%, first reported as a 1.5% increase.
Spending on private construction fell 0.1% in the month, while public construction declined 1.7%.
Residential construction rose 0.9%.
Economists polled by Thomson Reuters predicted an unchanged level of construction spending.
