Construction spending increased 0.1% in December, the Commerce Department said Monday, and is 8.2% above the December 2014 level.
In November, construction spending fell a revised 0.6%, first reported as a 0.4% decrease.
Spending on private construction fell 0.6% in the month, while public construction gained 1.9%.
Residential construction rose 0.9%.
Economists polled by Thomson Reuters predicted a 0.6% increase in construction spending.
