Texas service sector activity expanded in February, according to business executives responding to the Texas Service Sector Outlook Survey, as the revenue index rose to 14.2 from 8.4.

The employment index surged to 13.4 from 6.4, the part-time employment index climbed to positive 3.8 from negative 0.7, the hours worked index increased to positive 3.4 from negative 0.2, the wages and benefits index inched up to 12.3 from 12.1, the input prices index gained to 28.9 from 27.1, the selling prices index slid to 11.0 from 11.7, the capital expenditures index fell to 12.5 from 13.8, the general business activity index slipped to 5.2 from 5.8.
