Consumer Sentiment Climbs in November

The University of Michigan's preliminary November consumer sentiment index reading was 64.2, compared to the final October 60.9, and the final September 59.4, according to market sources.

The expectations index was 56.2, compared to 51.8 in October and 49.4 in September. The current conditions index was 76.6, compared to 75.1 in October and 74.9 in September.

Economists polled by Thomson Reuters had predicted a 61.3 reading for the main index, 74.9 for current conditions, and 52.2 for expectations.

The five-year inflation expectation index was 2.6% compared to 2.7% in October, while the one-year inflation expectation index stood at 3.2%, unchanged from October.
