Role Description:
Asset Preservation Advisors, LLC (APA) is seeking to expand its team with a junior member for its newly established office in New York City. The firm is headquartered in Atlanta, GA, but this individual will join APA's team of seasoned professionals based in New York. APA is a prominent player in the Muni space, with over $9 billion in assets under management in municipal bond separately managed accounts (SMAs).
We are seeking an exceptional candidate who will excel in fostering collaboration within our portfolio management team, with sell-side broker-dealers, and with financial advisor clients. Opportunity for significant and meaningful growth within this position, including trading responsibilities and other front-office roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating closely with the portfolio management team to analyze municipal credits, efficiently execute trades, and optimize investment strategies.
- Accelerating learning curve to effectively support financial advisor clients and ensure their needs are met promptly and professionally.
- Mastering portfolio management software systems to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
- Generating tailored ad-hoc reports for client meetings, providing comprehensive insights and analysis.
- Contributing to operational efficiency by assisting in trading activities and client service duties, ensuring smooth operations and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, preferably with fixed-income experience. Municipal bond knowledge is a plus.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborates proactively with team members to address and escalate issues effectively.
- Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments, displaying confidence, energy, and drive.
- Exhibits effective communication skills and adeptness in working with various partners.
- Shows readiness to promptly acquire requisite regulatory licenses, such as the Series 65.
