Preston Byrne is co-founder of Eris Industries, a London-headquartered company that has built an open-source platform allowing software developers and organisations to leverage blockchain and other distributed computing technologies to solve difficult commercial problems.�Preston is also a Fellow of the�Adam�Smith�Institute. Previously, Preston was�a securitisation and derivatives lawyer, as well as lead associate with the cryptocurrency and distributed computing team, with the London office of Norton Rose Fulbright.�Preston often contributes to or is quoted by mainstream news media. In 2013, he was the lead author of�Burning Down the House, a paper opposing the Conservatives’ Help to Buy mortgage subsidy programme, which was covered by hundreds of national and international media outlets including Forbes, the Financial Times, City A.M., Reuters, the Telegraph, the New Statesman, and the BBC.�Preston is considered a world expert on the application of smart contracts and blockchain technology in the enterprise.�He�holds a M.A. in International Relations from the University of St. Andrews and a LL.B. from the College of Law.
