"I felt like I was arguing all the time, and I wanted to work more collaboratively and do good for the public," said Horevay.

"The municipal space was an opportunity to get to know my community and make an impact," said Huston.

"The underlying work of the projects fascinates me, and they are important to me," said Krusen.

"I was interested in the macro side of the market, but also wanted to be in a product that was more credit-specific. That attracted me to munis," said Litten.

"Having a hand in keeping the transit system and the citizens of New York moving is what I am most proud of," said Litton.

Ma said her longevity at RBC "is a testament to the people I get to work with."

"There's no other business where you can see the direct results of your efforts," Maher said.

"I was in India doing U.S. public finance ratings and I found it super interesting," recalls Patel. "At S&P, they had different divisions and they put in a muni finance position. I fell in love."

"Today, we have a lot of innovative deals in the pipeline. Green initiatives and ESG-focused projects are on our plate now. It's exciting to think about where things will go to bring about a more sustainable future for everyone," Pearson-Farrer said.

"From all my work in the sector, I realized just how archaic technology in public finance was. We were using old tools," said Silva.

"What's great about the industry is there is always more to learn," Sobel said.

"My father would talk about all the projects he was working on and the impact they were having. I was always very interested," said Traudt.

The Hall of Fame initiative celebrates individuals whose careers have left an indelible mark, while the Rising Stars program recognizes the muni finance leaders of tomorrow. Nominations for the 2024 classes will be accepted until Friday, May 31. This will be the final deadline.
