Black Enterprise magazine has named Loop Capital Markets as its "Financial Services Company of the Year."

The Chicago-based firm was founded almost 20 years ago by current Chairman and CEO James Reynolds Jr. and Albert Grace Jr.

In accepting the award at the BE 100s Best and Brightest Businesses dinner on May 9, Reynolds stressed the importance of aiding a future generation of leaders.

"I grew up in one of the toughest neighborhoods in the city of Chicago," Reynolds said. "The only reason I attained any level of success is because someone took a chance on me and exposed me to a world I didn't know existed."

Reynolds pointed to Loop's annual summer internship program and said the firm is dedicated to helping train new business and community leaders.

"We've worked hard over the years to build a firm that puts our clients' needs first," he said. "To be acknowledged by Black Enterprise for the hard work our team exhibits on a daily basis is such an honor."

Black Enterprise's BE100 awards acknowledge companies that have exceeded excellence in business and entrepreneurship in their respective fields.
