Locals Get More Collections

The Oklahoma Tax Commission distributed $153 million in sales and use tax collections to cities and counties in August, an increase from August 2009’s $141.3 million.

The disbursement included $117.7 million in sales tax revenue to 505 cities and $8.6 million in use taxes to 367 cities.

Last August, the local governments shared $109.7 million of sales tax revenues and $22.4 million of use tax collections.

Oklahoma City received $3.5 million in sales tax revenues, up from $2.6 million in August 2009. Tulsa received $1.5 million in August, down from $1.6 million last year.

The state also distributed $24.9 million of sales tax revenues to 74 counties and $1.7 million of use tax collections to 70 counties.
