What Chuck Emrich is doing at Treasury

WASHINGTON – Longtime credit and bond analyst Chuck Emrich has joined the Treasury Department’s Office of Technical Assistance.

Emrich, a Treasury technical advisor, said in an interview that he will be providing consulting services to emerging nations, such as Uganda, on infrastructure projects. He will be doing a lot of traveling.

He joined Treasury in March after spending more than 12 years as a vice president at T. Rowe Price where he was a credit and bond analyst for the public power sector and for tax-backed issues in California and other states in the Far West.

“I still have another rodeo left in me,” he told The Bond Buyer. “I’m very excited about this opportunity.”

Before joining T. Rowe Price in 2005, Emrich was a vice president at Legg Mason for seven years, where he worked as an analyst covering airport, seaport and other sectors. He also was supervisor of the municipal credit research and strategies group.

Emrich was a vice president and a member of the infrastructure team when he worked at Moody’s Investors Service for five years, from 1993 to 1998.

He has both a master of business administration and a master of arts in economics from New York University, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Denison University.
