“As we continue to strengthen our public finance business, I am pleased to announce the following new additions to our banking team,” Peter Hill, head of public finance, said in an internal memo Monday afternoon. “Chris Melvin, Keith Hausman, and David Moffett bring to the firm expertise in both traditional public finance investment banking as well as sector expertise in project finance.”

Through the end of last year, UBS had added 37 new employees since announcing in 2017 that it would re-enter the public finance business to tap “increased demand for double and triple tax exempt securities in the current rising interest rate environment.” The latest hires come after Congress backed off plans to eliminate tax exempt stadium finance and private activity bonds as part of the tax law that takes effect this year.
