  • The Treasury will auction $30 billion of 91-day bills and $27 billion of 182-day discount bills. The 91-day bills settle May 17 and are due Aug. 16. The 182-day bills settle May 17 and are due Nov. 15. Currently, there are $30.997 billion of 91-day bills outstanding and $25.001 billion of 182-day bills.

 
Tuesday, May 15

 

  • Retail sales figures for April are released by the Commerce Department.
  • Consumer price figures for April are released by the Labor Department.
  • Business inventory and sales figures for March are released by the Commerce Department.

 

Wednesday, May 16

 

  • Housing starts and building permit figures for April are released by the Commerce Department.
  • Industrial production and capacity figures for April are released by the Federal Reserve Board.
  • The Federal Open Market Committee releases minutes from its April 24-25 meeting.

 
Thursday, May 17

 

  • Initial jobless claims for the week ending May 12 are released by the Labor Department.
  • Leading indicator figures for April are released by the Conference Board.
  • The Treasury will auction $13 billion of nine-year, eight-month 1/8% inflation-protected notes (TIPs) that are dated Jan. 15 and due Jan. 15, 2022.
