NEW YORK - Jerome H. Powell on Friday took the oath of office as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, according to the Fed.
Powell was confirmed by the Senate on May 17. Powell will complete the unexpired term vacated by the resignation of Frederic S. Mishkin on Aug. 31, 2008. The term ends Jan. 31, 2014.
In a move that kicks the can down the road at the very least, the Commission has begun a process that often results in outright rejection.
The 2022 law, which has so far banned three major investment banks from underwriting municipal bonds in Oklahoma, could be amended to limit its reach to state agencies.
