Perdue Gets His Way on Debt

The Georgia General Assembly on Friday passed a fiscal 2010 appropriations bill including most, if not all, of the debt service for $1.2 billion of general obligation bonds recommended by Gov. Sonny Perdue.

The debt package includes $350 million for state universities, $318 million for public schools, $260.5 million for state technical colleges, and $100 million for state transportation projects.

Perdue has not yet signed the bill.
