Nashwauk-Keewatin ISD 319, Minn., ICR Raised to A by S&P

Standard & Poor's Rating Services said it raised its issuer credit rating to A from A-minus on Nashwauk-Keewatin Independent School District No. 319, Minn.

At the same time Standard & Poor's affirmed its AA-plus enhanced rating on the district's existing general obligation taxable other postemployment benefits bonds. The outlook on all ratings is stable.

"The raised ICR reflects our view of the district's overall improved financial position," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Antionette Maxwell. "The ICR further reflects our view of the district's very strong fund balances, generally stable enrollment trends, and low overall debt burden," Maxwell added.

Nashwauk-Keewatin Independent School District No. 319 serves an estimated population of 3,780 in northern Minnesota's Itasca County.
