More Revenue Ahead

The Oklahoma Board of Equalization determined last week that new laws passed in the 2009 legislative session should bring in $58 million in additional revenue in fiscal 2010.

The budget for the new fiscal year that begins July 1 is $7.1 billion.

The additional revenue comes from changes in the process of collecting individual income taxes. Additional revenue will also be generated by an increase in the fee for tardy renewal of vehicles tags from 25 cents per day to $1 per day, with a $100 maximum.

The board, which will meet again in February, is chaired by Gov. Brad Henry.
