Milwaukee ISM index falls to 57.87 in April

The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business declined to 57.87 in April from 61.77 in March, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Friday.

New orders received slid to 59.78 from 65.12, production fell to 55.46 from 64.94, employment decreased to 63.73 from 66.91, supplier deliveries climbed to 62.38 from 61.88, and backlog of orders declined to 54.55 from 66.67.

Inventory levels slid to 48.00 from 50.00, customers’ inventories gained to 38.10 from 28.95, prices slipped to 76.00 from 79.55, exports rose to 52.78 from 50.00, and imports fell to 61.11 from 63.33.

The blue collar diffusion index declined to 61.9 from 65.3, while the white collar diffusion index decreased to 54.4 from 55.4.
