Home prices up at 5.8% pace in June

Home prices rose 5.8% on an annual basis in June, not seasonally adjusted, according to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price Index, released Tuesday.

In May, the index rose 5.7%.

The 10-city composite index grew 4.9% year-over-year, off from 5.0% last month, while the 20-city index grew 5.7% year-over-year, unchanged from May.

“Seattle, Portland and Dallas reported the highest year-over-year gains among the 20 cities, with year-over-year price increases of 13.4%, 8.2% and 7.7%, respectively,” according to a release.

Nine cities saw larger increases for the year ending June than in May.
