Gantt Fire, S.C., Raised to AA-Minus by S&P

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it raised its long-term rating on Gantt Fire, Sewer, & Police District, S.C.'s series 2000 general obligation bonds by one notch to AA-minus from A-plus.

The outlook is stable.

This action is based on Standard & Poor's view of the district's continued strong operations, leading to very strong reserves.

"The stable outlook reflects our view of a district that has achieved successive operating surpluses during financially challenging times," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Steve Tencer. "Based on current income and wealth levels, we expect this trend to continue. We do not anticipate any additional rating changes during the two-year outlook period."
