Michael Solomon is a Senior Vice President at FTN Financial, where he leads the Firm’s national transportation practice. Over his 30-year career, Mr. Solomon has successfully led major financings for airports, ports, toll roads and highways as well as water and sewer and general government finance. Mr. Solomon recently served on the Westchester County Transportation Commission, overseeing the operations and capital planning of the County’s Airport located in White Plains. Mr. Solomon’s experience in the transportation sector includes serving as senior manager for the New York and New Jersey Port Authority, the NYS Thruway Authority, Michigan DOT, NJ Turnpike, Boston’s MBTA and Denver’s RTD. Locally, he has served as senior manager on transactions for the City of Philadelphia Department of Water and co-manager to Penn Turnpike. In addition to his work in the municipal bond industry, Mr. Solomon served on the New York State Property Tax Commission and his local school district Board of Education. Prior to FTN Financial, Mr. Solomon served as a senior member of the public finance departments at Ramirez, Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns. Mr. Solomon holds a BS from SUNY Albany where he majored in Financial Decision Systems.
