Louis Barton

Executive Vice President

As executive vice president for Cullen/Frost, Louis Barton oversees the enterprise wide risk management and third party risk management programs, corporate privacy and cyber awareness. Louis has been a Frost banker since 1996.Additional responsibilities include coordinating operational risk management activities and operational risk reporting. He also co-chaired the American Banker’s Association working group for mid-size banks and taught classes at the Bank Operations Institute.Previously, Barton was the director of the Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse operations. He also managed the century date change program for the company, and participated in special White House activities during the Clinton administration intended to bolster public confidence in the banking system.He testified before Congress on financial institution and customer risk, attended Federal Reserve Board of Governors meetings, and spoke at the National Press Club in Washington.Barton is a graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in management. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional and has a degree in professional photography from the New York Institute of Photography.He is author of the book “Check Processing Operations” published by McGraw-Hill. He has over forty years of experience in the banking and finance industry.
