Lester Hill

Analyst and National Bank Examiner

Lester Hill is a policy analyst in the Governance and Operational Risk Policy (GORP) Group. Mr. Hill develops Comptroller’s Handbook and regulatory guidance for OCC examiners and bankers in areas of Operational Risk Management. In August 2015, he transferred to the GORP group from Information Technology (IT) field supervision.Mr. Hill joined the OCC in 1992 after 12 years in commercial lending with regional banks in Grand Rapids, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri. In 1998, he received his commission as a National Bank Examiner and his Certified Information Systems Auditor certification. Until 2005, he served as a portfolio manager for various St. Louis-area community banks. In 2006, he became an IT examiner and worked at and supervised IT functions at large community and midsize banks and large national IT service providers. In 2014 Mr. Hill received his Federal Thrift Regulator commission. From 2009 to 2015, he worked out of the OCC’s Atlanta, Georgia field office.Mr. Hill received a bachelor’s degree from Hope College and a master of business administration from Indiana University.
