Guillermo co-founded GUAU Corporation in 2010. GUAU provides management consulting on strategic risk management and customer-oriented innovation. Guillermo helps Board of Directors and C-suite executives turn risks into opportunities to price competitively, navigate the regulatory agenda, and tap emerging technologies. He counsels corporate leaders to attain a balanced understanding of risk and act upon more granular, holistic and timely information. Prior to GUAU, Guillermo had joined the advisory research and consulting firm TowerGroup in 2002, where he led the corporate strategy function and grew the global research businesses by 20% annually. As TowerGroup’s Executive Director and Global Research Fellow, he advised top level executives on a wide range of risk management issues and strategic trends, and influenced fundamental change at top-tier financial services firms and industry providers. Guillermo helped financial institutions identify and implement structural changes in capital adequacy and liquidity risk. He promoted a strategic, industry-wide focus on advanced risk management disciplines, analytics, models and processing platforms. Sought for his depth of knowledge, breadth of experience, and strategic vision, he delivered keynote presentations frequently at industry events, was featured in broadcast media (e.g., Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox Business News, Reuters), and authored many thought leadership reports.Before TowerGroup, Guillermo had served at Citigroup for 16 years in progressive leadership roles across diverse corporate, consumer, and private banking lines of business globally, and at Boards of subsidiaries. Guillermo led business performance improvements at the Private Bank in the United States. He drove corporate improvement initiatives for Citigroup globally, including the asset management, structured finance, securities, bank branches, and bank cards businesses.From 1993 to 1995, Guillermo centralized Citibank's systems across 21 countries in Latin America into a regional center in Florida. Guillermo then relocated to New York to manage global technology services encompassing credit, risk management, regulatory compliance and funds transfer application systems.Before coming to the United States in 1993, Guillermo served for 5 years in Saudi Arabia, where, under special assignment with the Saudi monetary agency, he managed the transformation from cash to electronic payments and bank cards, and advised the agency on payments risk management. Guillermo had joined Citibank in Argentina in 1985, where he led innovative developments in cash management and diversified banking products. Guillermo’s earlier career was as a leader of technology innovation in the airline industry. His leadership assignments to include having served as the corporate CIO of Aerolineas Argentinas for 9 years, and as the automation policy manager of the International Air Transport Association in Switzerland.Guillermo holds a Masters of Science in project management from George Washington University and a computer science degree from the University of Buenos Aires.
