Artie Byrne has been with Barneys New York for over 10 years, where he is responsible for the luxury department store’s financial and store systems. 2 years ago he was charged with modernizing their point of sale system – a central piece to that strategy was implementing mobile. Barneys launched mobile point of sale in November 2011 and were the first retailer to offer full functionality on an Ipad. He is also involved in and manages other digital strategy elements for the chain. Artie received his B.S. in Computer Science and Film Studies from Rutgers College and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU.
