Pontotoc voters reject $11.75 million school bond

PONTOTOC, Miss. — A proposed school bond for Pontotoc City Schools failed in a vote Tuesday night.

Voters rejected the proposed $11.75 million bond issue that would have provided funding for renovations of educational facilities at every campus in the district and upgrades for the Pontotoc High School football stadium.

The unofficial vote tally Tuesday was 1,243 against the bond and 472 for it.

The bond would have increased the millage rate for tax payers by 0.0138 mills.

The bond would have provided funding for upgrades at Pontotoc Elementary School, DT Cox Elementary School, Pontotoc Middle School, Pontotoc Junior High School and Pontotoc High School.
