IRS to Hold Webinar on Arbitrage July 10

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service's tax-exempt bond office will hold an audio webcast on basic arbitrage concepts on July 10 at 2 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time.

The webinar will cover arbitrage in the context of tax-advantaged bonds, limits on the yield on investments, exceptions to the limits, and arbitrage rebate. The webcast will also cover post-issuance compliance issues, including problems and remedies and the voluntary closing agreement program, the IRS said.

The presenters will be Christopher Woodin, TEB lead tax law specialist, and Antoine Zemor, a TEB tax law specialist.

People can register for the webinar at http://www.visualwebcaster.com/IRS/99880/reg.asp?id=99880.

TEB held a webcast earlier this month about the office's mission and operations. The office is planning to hold a webinar in August on 501(c)(3) bonds.
