MSRB Pilot Exam for Muni Advisors to be Administered Early Next Year

WASHINGTON - The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board plans to administer its Series 50 pilot qualification exam for municipal advisory representatives from Jan. 15 through Feb., 15, 2016.

The board announced the schedule on Tuesday, saying the registration window will be available beginning on Sept. 21 of this year and closing on Jan. 14, 2016.

The exam will cost $265 and will feature 120 questions. It should take about four hours to complete, with an additional 30 minutes for a tutorial on how to complete the computerized exam, the MSRB said in its notice.

Municipal advisors can use the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's Form U10 to enroll their MA professionals for the exam, the MSRB said. For more information on the Series 50 pilot exam, see the MSRB's Regulatory Notice 2015-15.
