Stern Brothers Adds Weprin, Olderndorp in Northeast

Stern Brothers & Co. has hired former New York City Councilman David Weprin as a managing director.

Weprin, a former deputy superintendent of banks for New York State, will join managing director Donna LoCasio, senior vice president Phil Smith and vice president Lance White in New York, as part of Stern Brothers' public finance buildout along the East Coast.

The women-owned St. Louis firm also bolstered its New Jersey presence by adding longtime institutional salesman Neal Oldendorp.

"The addition of David and Neal solidifies Stern Brothers' strategic plan to continue building our East Coast presence," said chief executive Peggy Finn.

Stern Brothers was co-senior manager in a recent Metropolitan Transportation Authority $500 million bond sale,

The MTA, one of the largest municipal issuers with roughly $34 billion in debt as of May 30, created the co-senior manager position to further the use of minority and women-owned firms in transactions.

Stern Brothers is also co-manager for the New York City Housing Development Corp.
