PREPA Restructuring Officer to Testify Tuesday

Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority chief restructuring officer Lisa Donahue will testify before a Puerto Rico Senate committee Tuesday morning.

Donahue's testimony to the Committee on Energy Issues and Water Resources in English will start at 9 a.m. Tuesday and be available online at: http://senado.pr.gov.

The president of the committee, Senator Ram-n Luis Nieves, has called Donahue to explain what she and her team from AlixPartners LLP have been doing since being hired in August to restructure PREPA.

The contract with AlixPartners elapses Wednesday. The agreement with the forbearing bondholders also ends Wednesday night. Donahue and AlixPartners are working to extend both agreements.

Donahue and her team originally promised to present a plan for handling the authority's more than $9 billion in debt on March 2. They missed this deadline. However, Donahue said last week that she was optimistic that a consensual plan could be reached with PREPA's forbearing bondholders.
