LOS ANGELES — Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has promoted two public finance attorneys to partner in offices on opposite coasts.
Devin Brennan was promoted in San Francisco and Sarah Rackoff in New York as part of Monday's announcement that 19 Orrick lawyers were elevated effective Jan. 1.
"They have partner-level skill sets and the ability to manage complicated transactions," said Roger Davis, chair of Orrick's public finance practice.
The global law firm also hired three partners in Houston when it opened a new office there in January bringing the total to 30 partners in its' public finance practice, Davis said.
Orrick has 325 partners across all practices.
Both Brennan and Rackoff specialize in public-private transactions.
Brennan, whose practice is broad, also represents clients in the transportation, water and wastewater, and public power sectors as well as on distressed municipal debt transactions.
The deals Rackoff has worked on include the Iowa Fertilizer plant project, a methanol facility project in Beaumont, Texas that is still in the works, New York City's mid-town tunnel project and financing for an I-95 project in Virginia. She also works on housing and non-profit financings and has been advising clients on matters related to Puerto Rico.
Brennan and Rackoff, who were hired in 2007, have worked at Orrick their entire careers.
This year's promotions, across all practices, represents the largest class since 2007. Of the 19 elevated, 10 were women, outnumbering promotions of men for the first time in the firm's history.
