Muni Veteran Taylor Appointed to Cal State Uni Board

WASHINGTON - Peter Taylor, former chief financial officer for the University of California, has been appointed to the California State University Board of Trustees.

California Gov. Jerry Brown’s office announced the appointment Wednesday.

The position requires confirmation by the state Senate.

Taylor, 56, has had a long career in munis. He has been president at the Educational Credit Management Corporation Foundation since last year and was managing director of municipal finance at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers from 1993 to 2009.

The 25-member Board of Trustees meets six times per year, and has authority over curricular development, use of property, development of facilities, and fiscal and human resources management.

Compensation for the position is a $100 per diem. Taylor is a Democrat.
