Community Capital Muni Pros Earn Awards

BRADENTON, Fla. - Two professionals at Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Community Capital Management Inc. received honors for their work in the municipal bond industry.

Portfolio manager Julie Egan was named to SMITH's Research & Gradings 2014 All-Star Second Team in the Housing Bond Category and senior portfolio manager Michelle Rogers was named a Rising Star of the year by Traders Magazine.

"We are so pleased that Michelle and Julie have received these honors," said Barbara VanScoy, chief impact investment officer at CCM. "They have made great contributions to our firm and their investment experience and superior service is a valuable combination."

Egan is based in the firm's Charlotte, N.C., office and has more than 27 years of experience in municipal bond research. She joined CCM in 2009 and is responsible for municipal credit analysis and research. She is currently secretary of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, and is past president of the Southern Municipal Finance Society.

SMITH's will honor all award winners at a gala in New York on Dec. 3.

Rogers is based in the CCM's Weston, Fla., office and has more than 17 years of fixed income trading experience. She joined CCM in 2003 as a trader and was promoted to senior portfolio manager in 2010.

Rogers was honored by Traders Magazine with a Rising Star award, which is presented to women who have had significant and growing impact on their firms, and the finance industry. The magazine is a publication of SourceMedia, the parent company of The Bond Buyer.

Community Capital is a Florida-based investment advisor with offices in Charlotte and Boston, Mass. The firm was founded in 1998 and currently manages about $2 billion in assets.
