The appointment of Michael Dardia as co-research director of the Citizens Budget Commission watchdog organization, will enhance its research capacity, CBC officials say.
Dardia, former deputy director of New York City's Mayor's Office of Management and Budget, spoke briefly at the Oct. 1 CBC breakfast meeting at the Harvard Club of New York.
The commission, long a watchdog for the finances and operations of New York City and state governments, has recently enlarged its focus to include the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Dardia will work alongside Charles Brecher, the commission's consulting research director and retiring professor at New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
