Bond Attorneys Steve Edds and Sue Hicks Fairbank Join Butler Snow

BRADENTON, Fla. - Butler Snow LLP has hired public finance attorneys Steve Edds and Sue Hicks Fairbank to work in the firm's Richland, Miss., office.

Edds' practice focuses on government finance, economic development incentives and government relations.

Fairbank has worked extensively in all types of revenue bond and general purpose government financings.

Edds and Fairbank previously worked in the Jackson, Miss., office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PC, according to the online directory of the Mississippi Bar Association.

Both attorneys are members of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.

Edds has been lead counsel on more than $10 billion of government debt issuance, according to Butler Snow.

He received both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Mississippi. He is a contributor to The Issuer's Guide to Tax Exempt Financing, past editor of Barrister Magazine, served as director of the American Judicature Society, and is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Fairbank received her undergraduate degree from Mississippi University for Women and a law degree from the University of Mississippi.

She is a member of the Mississippi and Capital Area Bar Associations, and the Mississippi Women Lawyers Association.

Butler Snow has expanded its public finance business with recent additions in Atlanta, Boston, Denver and New York.

On Monday, the firm announced that former Colorado House of Representatives Speaker Terrance D. Carroll has been hired to work in its Denver office.

Carroll is a transactional attorney whose work will include government relations. He most recently was associate general counsel at SCL Health, and received his law degree from the University of Denver.

Butler Snow said it has a comprehensive public finance practice with more than 40 attorneys.
