WASHINGTON -- The National Association of Bond Lawyers recently announced nominees for its board officers and directors that members will vote on at its annual meeting in Chicago on Oct. 19.

Clifford Gerber, NABL's current president-elect, will automatically become president for 2016-2017 following the election of the new president-elect.

Gerber, a tax partner at Norton Rose Fulbright in San Francisco, was previously NABL's treasurer. He also has served in various capacities on NABL's board of directors since 2010 and has been on the board of directors for the American College of Bond Counsel.

Alexandra "Sandy" MacLennan, a partner at Squire Patton Boggs in Tampa, was nominated to be president-elect for 2016-2017. MacLennan was previously secretary for NABL and served a prior three-year term on the organization's board of directors beginning in 2011. Like Gerber, she will have a one-year term.

Kenneth Artin, NABL's immediate past president, will remain as a director for one more year.

Nominations were made by NABL's seven-member nominating committee, which is chaired by Antonio "Tony" Martini, a partner at Hinckley Allen in Boston and a past NABL president.

Dee Wisor, an attorney at Butler Snow in Denver and NABL's secretary, was nominated to become the organization's treasurer in October, while Richard Moore, a partner at Orrick in San Francisco who currently serves on NABL's board of directors, was nominated to become secretary. Both are one-year positions.

Lorraine Tyson, a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig in Chicago, was nominated to fill the unexpired term of Michael Larsen, who will voluntarily resign from as a NABL director in October. Larsen is a partner at Parker Poe in Charleston, S.C.

Carol McCoog, a partner at Hawkins Delafield & Wood in Portland, Ore., and Perry Israel, a lawyer with his own practice in Sacramento, were nominated to become directors whose terms would expire in 2019.

NABL members may also nominate another member for executive office or the board of directors from the floor of the annual meeting but must give notice to NABL's president and chief operating officer at least 14 days in advance.

Three NABL members will continue to serve as directors for their unexpired terms: Teri Guarnaccia, a partner at Ballard Spahr in Baltimore will serve through 2017; Ann Fillingham, an attorney at Dykema Gossett in Lansing, Mich., through 2018, and Joseph "Jodie" Smith, a shareholder at Maynard Cooper Gale in Birmingham, Ala., also through 2018.

The election for board directors and executive officers will be held on Oct. 19 at the Fairmont hotel in Chicago at NABL's annual meeting, which always coincides with its Bond Attorney's Workshop. This BAW will be NABL's 41st.

Kathleen Orlandi, a partner at Hawkins Delafield & Wood in New York and chair of the 2017 Bond Attorneys' Workshop, will be an ex-officio director for one year, according to NABL.

Leaving the board, besides Larsen, will be Martini and Bryant D. Barber, with Lewis Roca Rothgerber in Phoenix.
