HJ Sims Adds 2 to Fixed Income Sales Team

Steve Williamson and Chris Long have joined HJ Sims as senior vice presidents of fixed income sales, the firm announced on Monday.

Williamson and Long both specialize in taxable and bank qualified securities and have had extensive experience with retail and institutional clients, covering middle market banks, insurance companies, investment advisors and municipalities.

"Steve and Chris have skills that will enhance HJ Sims' ability to service our retirement account business and further penetrate the institutional arena," HJ Sims Managing Director Arthur Wunder said in a press release. "Additionally, their knowledge will strengthen our banking capability through the creation of new taxable municipal bond issues, as well as the ability to pursue municipal cash management business."

Williamson, who will based at the firm's headquarters in Fairfield, Conn., has 40 years of experience and holds Series 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, and 24 licenses. He previously worked at Oppenheimer Capital Markets, Southwest Securities, Commerce Bank and RBC Capital Markets.

"Throughout the past 40 years, I have seen the industry landscape evolve considerably, and one fundamental remains constant: people are trying to find value," Williamson said. "During my time in the business, I have cultivated many relationships and contacts, which enable me to find dynamic solutions to meet my clients' varying needs."

Long is based in Richmond, Va., and has 28 years of experience. He and holds his Series 7, 63, 65, Insurance and Long-Term Care licenses. Previously, he worked in middle market sales at Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley and most recently at Oppenheimer Capital Markets.

"My business is customer-driven and largely in the tax-free and taxable muni space," Long said. "Many of my customers have been with me for 28 years … so they rely on me for expertise: research, market sentiment, honest and fair pricing."
