Muni Bond Indexes Strengthen in Latest Week

The weekly average yield to maturity of the Bond Buyer Municipal Bond Index, which is based on 40 long-term bond prices, fell two basis points to 4.39% in the week ending Nov. 20 from 4.41% in the previous week.

The 20-Bond GO Index of 20-year general obligation yields fell five basis points to 3.93%, from 3.98% the previous week. It stands at its lowest level since Oct. 30, when it was 3.90%.

The 11-Bond GO Index of higher-grade 20-year GO yields also lost five basis points, to 3.78% from 3.83% the previous week. It stands at its lowest level since Oct. 30, when it was 3.75%.

The Bond Buyer's 25-bond Revenue Bond Index remained unchanged at 4.62%. It stands at the lowest level since Nov. 6, when it was 4.61%.

The yield on the U.S. Treasury's 10-year note dropped by one basis point to 2.34%. It stands at its lowest level since Oct. 30, when it was 2.31%

The yield on the Treasury's 30-year bond fell two basis points to 3.06%. It stands at its lowest level since Oct. 30, when it was 3.04%.
