Mester Wants June Rate Hike Option

June should be an option for liftoff and the Federal Open Market Committee should remove the reference to "patient" in statement after its March meeting, Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland President Loretta Mester said in a televised interview Thursday.

If the Fed takes out "patient" in March, it doesn't automatically mean liftoff will be in June, but "June becomes a viable option," something Mester told CNBC she's "in favor of."
