March Building Permits Unrevised

WASHINGTON — The number of U.S. building permits issued in March was unrevised at a decrease of 5.7% to a 1.039 million unit annual rate, the Commerce Department's Bureau of the Census said Friday.

The Census Bureau revises the latest building permits data on the 18th working day of the month, three to seven days after the release of the preliminary estimate in the month housing starts and building permits report.

Permits for single-family homes were unrevised at a gain of 2.1% at a 636,000 unit rate (previously up 2.1% at a 636,000 unit rate). Permits for multi-unit buildings were unrevised at a decline of 15.9% at a 403,000 unit rate (previously down 15.9% at a 403,000 unit rate.)
