The moment to raise rates is approaching, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City President Esther George, who doesn't vote on the FOMC this year, said Tuesday.
"I think it is time for us to talk about that, and I base that on looking at the sustained growth in the economy," she told a gathering of the Council for Economic Education in New York. "The momentum and the progress that the labor market has made is very positive, and we see that continuing," she said, adding she was "not bothered" by current low inflation.
