Final Sept. U. of Mich. Index at 91.2 vs. 89.8 in Aug.

The University of Michigan's final September consumer sentiment index reading was 91.2, compared to the preliminary September 89.8 and the final August 89.8, according to market sources.

The expectations index was 82.7, compared to the preliminary September 81.1 and the final August 78.7.

The current conditions index was 104.2, compared to the preliminary September 103.5 and the final August 107.0.

Economists polled by Thomson Reuters had predicted a 90.0 reading for the main index.

The five-year inflation expectation index was 2.6%, compared to 2.5% in August, while the one-year inflation expectation index was 2.4%, compared to 2.5% in August.

The University of Michigan index is not released to the press, but only to paying subscribers.
